On July 17-18, 2015, Batumi hosted the 11th International Dental Congress in participation of regional and international companies, teams of dentists and groups that presented innovative approaches to dental implantology.

Among international speakers was Roberto Rossi, professor, DDS, MScD, University La Sapienza, Rome (Italy), whose presentation was about Biomimetic periodontics.

A group of dental work team from Armenia, dental implantologist Davit Galstyan, dental technician Volodya Vardevanyan, both trained in Germany, as well as Anahit Chilingaryan were sponsored by German company Bredent Medical to participate in the congress and show innovative surgeries.

On July 19 the team of Armenian dental implantology work performed a live surgery that included restoration of a bone defect, as well as a surgery that is called fast & fixed by Bredent Medical, which allows the patient with a totally edentulous jaw to walk out of the clinic with new teeth the same day, after only one surgery.

The surgery that included restoration of bone defect was done through replacing injured and defected bone section with bone materials, covered up and closed with a titanium material.

The fast and fixed surgery, which lasted approximately 4 hours, enabled the patient chew and eat the same day after the surgery as the patient walked out of the surgery room with new teeth on the same day.

During the surgeries doctor Davit used a PRF technique (serum enriched with growth factors), which is a technology based on а drug substance of proteins obtained from a patient’s blood, processed through a biological activity, including growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration.

The congress included discussions and presentations of various case studies that would bring new information and knowledge to the area of dental implantology in the region.
